Musical Mathematics

My name is Gregory Taylor, aka mathtans!  I have a degree in mathematics, but a minor in music.

 

In brief, this session will be about using songs in math class, either viewed, performed, or written.  Some discussion of rap, though my personal forte is pop music parody. Incidentally, I'm a senior high school teacher, but this is the sort of thing that works at all ages.

 

A pencil and paper might be handy to generate a couplet or two of your own, videos will also be shown. Here's the intro vid (7 min), which I've temporarily put online (Google Docs):
